The Istanbul Technical University Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PCG) Center is orginizing a significant seminar series throughout Fall Semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year, aiming to raise students' awareness and strengthen their psychological resilience.

This series, consisting of 25 different sessions, will focus on the topics of Behavioral Addictions and Suicide, addressing potential risk factors faced by university students and exploring ways to cope with them. The seminars will cover modern forms of behavioral addiction such as online gaming, social media, and compulsive shopping, while also providing as in-depth discussion of the psychological, social, and cultural dynamics of suicide.

Dr. Engin BÜYÜKÖKSÜZ, Coordinator of the ITU PCG Center, emphasized the importance of the seminar series, stating:

"Behavioral addictions and suicide are among the most pressing issues confronting today's youth. This seminar series is designed to help our students build awareness, recognize the risk, and identify resources where they can seek professional support when needed."

The seminar will feature interactive sessions, case studies, and solution-oriented discussions that encourage student participation. Informative materials about mental health services will also be distributed to attendees.

Expected to draw strong interest from ITU students, these seminars will take place across various faculties throughout the Fall Semester and are free and open to all students.
